My wife recently heard an essay by Ben Stein that she had me read. If you remember, Ben Stein was the teacher in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" who uttered the memorable quote, "Bueller. Bueller. Bueller..." Anyways, she heard his last essay that he wrote in his series "Monday Night at Mortons." Here is the link (this browser doesn't seem to let me do a hyperlink).
When he began writing a number of years ago his job was to comment on the stars that he would see at this upper class Hollywood restaurant. This final article, written in December 2003, highlights the change in his perspective on life and on who are the real stars. It also highlights what seems to be a spiritual revolution in his own life as he makes statements like this: "In a word, we make ourselves sane when we fire ourselves as the directors of the movie of our lives and turn the power over to Him." Read it in its entirety and enjoy!
