David Brooks has a good column on why McCain, Giuliani, and Ahnold are speaking at the GOP convention. It's not about moderate/'big tent' posturing, says Brooks, they "are featured because they embody the brand of courageous conservatism the party has sought to project since 9/11." Here's the final paragraph, The coming weeks will be so tough because the essential contest - of which the Swift boat stuff was only a start - will be over who really has courage, who really has resolve, and who is just a fraud with a manly bearing.
Let's get ready to rumble!
