Re: Movie Quotes
The best:
"You don't understand! I could've had class. I could've been a contender. I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am." - Marlon Brando
"Now, I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country." - George C. Scott
"Does your dog bite?" - Peter Sellers
"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!" - Mandy Patinkin
"Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes?" - Harrison Ford
"I'll be taking these Huggies and whatever cash you got." - Nicolas Cage
"I gave her my heart, and she gave me a pen." - John Cusack
"Shane! Shane! Come back!" - Brandon De Wilde
"What do they think I am, dumb or something? Why, I make more money than Calvin Coolidge! Put together!" - Jean Hagen
"Go ahead, make my day." - Clint Eastwood

Sadly, there are some missing:
"There's no basement in the Alamo!" - Jan Hooks (PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE)
"That's the artificial horizon. It's better than the actual horizon." - Steven Wright (SO I MARRIED AN AXE MURDERER)
"Would ya look at the size of that kid's head! It's the size of a planetoid and it has it's own weather system! Looks like an orange on a toothpick! ... I'm not kidding, that boy's head is like Sputnik; spherical but quite pointy at parts! Aye, now that was offsides, now wasn't it? He'll be crying himself to sleep tonight, on his huge pillow." - Mike Myers (SO I MARRIED AN AXE MURDERER)

Good News
Two bits of Iraq-related good news:
  • Iraq Murder Charges Dropped Against Marine - "A former Wall Street trader who rejoined the Marines after the Sept. 11 attacks will not be tried on murder charges for killing two suspected Iraqi insurgents, a Marine general decided Thursday."
  • Iraqi Officials Confirm Zarqawi Is Wounded - "Iraq's interior and defense ministers said Thursday they have information that al-Zarqawi has been wounded -- apparent confirmation of recent rumors that the Jordanian-born terrorist leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq was injured. But the officials said they did not know how severe the injury might be."

I love NetFlix. If you aren't a NetFlix subscriber, go there right now and sign up. It is easily the best deal in the world. All the movies you can watch for about $20 a month. They have every DVD in existence available for rent.

And if you haven't been watching the TV series 24, rent it and watch it from the beginning,. This is as good as TV gets. The person who thougt up this idea is a freakin' genius. I have never enjoyed or been as "clifffhanger'd" as I ever has with this show The first three seasons are on DVD, and you should start from the beginning and watch all three seasons in order. This is fantastic, marvelous, suspenseful, television. As good as it gets. I can't believe how good this is. Each show is suspensefull, compelling, fun, adventuresome, and worth watching. I can't imagine having to watch this week to week -- having to watch it four shows at a time on the separare DVD's is bad enougth. It's easily among the best television shows I've ever wathched. If you aren't famililiiar with it, get familiiar. It's TV at it's best. Netflixs makes it easy. Do it. Now.

Picture of the Day
The President holds a beautiful baby -- conceived by one woman and carried to term by another. The child was an "excess embryo", adopted and born by his loving mother.

God Bless George Bush. Would that we were half the man he is.

The Stupidest Idea in the History of the World
There have been some pretty stupid ideas in the history of the world -- communism, putting pineapple on pizza, Supertrain -- but none of them, not one, is as stupid as this idea.

The Governor a "Dark Horse"?
KLo gives Governor Pawlenty the nod as a dark horse for the 2008 nomination.

I'd vote for the guy in a heartbeat.

Re: Movie Quotes
Here are my comments on the latest batch.

Classic (in other words, if I can slip any of these into conversation, it's a good day):
"Wax-on, wax-off."
"Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera."
"There's no crying in baseball!"
"The stuff that dreams are made of."
"Is it safe?"

Still very good:
"My precious."
"You're good, you're very good."
"Tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Gipper."
"Over? Did you say "over?" Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell, no!"
"It's alright, that's in every contract. That's what they call a sanity clause. -
You can't fool me! There ain't no Sanity Claus."
"Who's on first."

New to me, but I likey:
"Mac, you ever been in love? -
No, I've been a bartender all my life."
