Hugh Hewitt offers a run down of the possible contenders in the 2006 Minnesota Senate race. For the Dems, Alan Page jumps to the top of the list (if he decides to run). Atty. Gen. Mike Hatch is also viable, and Amy Klobuchar (a high school classmate of mine) is a long shot. For the GOP, Rep. Mark Kennedy announced his candidacy today and seems to be the front-runner. Former Sen. Rod Grams also says he's running.Yesterday, the Powerline boys had story about Tim Pawlenty's rising star among Republicans nationally. In a wide open field for the nomination for president in 2008, our Governor has people looking his way.
It looks like Minnesota will continue to attract national attention in politics for a few more years.
