They're calling him the greatest distance runner ever.
Haile Gebrselassie broke the world record for the 20k and half marathon last Sunday in Tempe, Arizona. His time of 58:55 shattered the old mark by 21 seconds. It's the 20th time he has set a world record. The 32 year old Gebrsalassie has two Olympic gold medals for the 10k in 1996 and 2000, as well as 4 world championships golds, and 3 golds in world indoor championships. He is preparing for the 2008 Olympic marathon.
Hey, he's even got a movie out.
